The Season
Hunting purists prefer the thrill, sport, and challenge of hunting only WILD PHEASANTS. At Steckley’s Wild Dakota Outfitters, you can hunt almost 20,000 acres of the best wild pheasant property in South Dakota from October 18, 2008 through January 2009. Our property is inhabited by an estimated 9,000 to 15,000 wild hens. Each hen, under normal weather conditions, will raise 7-10 chicks to maturity. Therefore, Steckley’s Wild Dakota Outfitters offers outstanding wild pheasant hunting at all times throughout the regular season.

LATE SEASON
Some of the most thrilling hunts of the season take place in late November and December when most pheasant hunting lodges have closed for the year. During a typical December hunt, sportsman typically shoot 1 – 2 boxes of shells each day to get their 3 bird daily limit as the birds are still plentiful, high, fast, and very challenging.
