SAMMY'S INFORMATION
I purchased Sammy as a 7 week old puppy from field trialer Roger Weller of Belgrade, MN.
When I was looking for a high quality puppy in 2000, I spoke to 2 respected Field Trial Pro's and asked them to help me in my search. After a few months of research, they decided on Roger Weller's litter and excitedly said to buy one of these. Sammy has lived up to their expectations.
Sammy's Mom (Crow River's Cassie Kay) is Roger's personal gun dog. Her Sire is FC/AFC Crow Rivers Malarky Cougar.
FC/AFC Cougar is the Sire of numerous FC/AFC including:
FC/AFC Crow River Hi Res Scanner was a FC at 3 years old, has 89 A-A pts, qualified for 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2001 National Opens, went 8 series at 1998 National, and qualified 1997 National Amateur.
FC/AFC Crow Rivers Cougar Mad Max - Finalist at 2005 Canadian National Amateur, very athletic, derby points.
FC CFC CAFC He's Czar Nicholas - He's Czar Nicholas and Crow River Cougars Mad Max won the Open and the Amateur at the same Field Trial in Kansas City.
FC/AFC Crow Rivers "Maggie" Malarkys Big Deal (33 Derby points)
SAMMY'S SIRE IS FC/AFC Rocky Mountain Star III - Sammy's Sire FC/AFC Rocky Mountain Star III is the son of FC/NAFC The Little Duke of Fargo and FC/AFC Rocky Mountain Star II.
FC/AFC Rocky Mountain Star III is also a littermate to FC/AFC Blackwater Bart II. FC/AFC Blackwater Bart is the Grandfather of 2006 NFC-AFC Dr. Cooper PHD MH and the sire of FC/AFC Blackwater Rudy.
I am an owner and manager of a wild pheasant and duck hunting operation in Kimball, SD. Sammy has been a very important part of my success as a hunting operation owner/guide. Many of my customers want to hunt with Sammy as she is a hard hunter with a great nose who consistently finds game.
I did the basic training on Sammy and then hunted her extensively at my pheasant hunting lodge in South Dakota for 3 years before sending her to Pro Trainer Trapper Fry at Fryline Kennels in Campobello, South Carolina. Trapper Fry guided pheasant hunters for me for 2 years and loved Sammy. He suggested that since she was very talented, I should send her with him to get a MH title. Although Trapper said it may be difficult to steady a dog with her strong desire after 3 years of extensive upland hunting, her great marking and training attitude, and amazing retrieving desire were the reasons for her receiving her title. Sammy was also used as a duck hunting guide dog near Stuttgard, Arkansas for a hunting season.
Sammy is an excellent upland and waterfowl hunter and a super house dog. Sammy hunts about 60 days each year and retrieves approximately 200 wild birds each season.

FC/AFC HILLTOPS HAYSEED "BUBBA" Information
Bubba's reputation speaks for itself. However, this is a brief history of Bubba's accomplishments.
The following information on Bubba was given to me by John and Sharon Pease, the owners of Bubba.
FC AFC Hilltop's Hayseed (Bubba) was sired by FC AFC Black Golds Kate's Rascal and his dam was Candlewood's Divine MS M. John Pease purchased Bubba as a pup for duck hunting and he was also a house dog. His natural abilities were evident while young, and it was felt that he could be competitive in AKC Licensed field trials. John did all of his training and handling.
Bubba had a Derby JAM, Reserve JAM, and a Second, along with a Qualifying JAM before he turned one year old. He amassed 44 Derby points (five wins) to a finish of 7th on the National Derby list for 1995. He earned two Qualifying wins before turning two.
As a young dog, Bubba seemed to run calmer when he was double staked. Since he had Qualified-Out prior to two, it was decided on his last eligible Derby trial (Lincoln Trial) to enter him in both the Derby and Open. He ended up winning both stakes - making him a Double header winner of a Derby/Open Combination. This earned him the privilege of riding in the back seat of the dog truck. (A special seat which folded flat was ordered for him). From the backseat window he was able to greet people at field trials. He enjoyed everyone's ear scratches and kind words.
He received his FC in 1997 at 3 1/2 years. Twice he had back-to-back open wins. When he became eligible to run the Amateur in the fall of 1999, he received his AFC in five weeks with three Amateur wins. Bubba retired due to a foot injury. He had 56 All-Age points (including 5 Open wins).
BUBBA'S LITTERMATES AND OFFSPRING
Bubba's sister, NFC AFC Cashman's Fat Lady Zingin won the National Open in 2002.
In 2004, a Son of Bubba's, NFC AFC Dewey's Drake of Moon River, won the 2004 National Open and was also a 2004 National Amateur Finalist. Drake has 106 AA points and had 2 Amateur wins at 30 months. He had his AFC Title at age 3 and his FC title at age 4. Drake qualified for the National Amateur in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and National Open in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. In 2005 he was a US National Open Finalist.
A Daughter of Bubba's, FC AFC Candlewood's Ruffian, was a National Open Finalist that same year (2004).
Bubba also produced FC FTCH AFTCH Taylorslab Magic Trick, MH, CD. He was a National Open Finalist in 2006, and a top Open dog in Canada in 2004. He also qualified for the National Open in 2005 and 2006.
Other titled progeny from Bubba include AFC Hilltop's Boondocker and FC Hilltop's Mountain Music.
Bubba has sired many top Derby dogs, a few of which are:
| Hilltop's Headliner | #5 Derby Dog in 2000, 37 points with a Derby win at 12 months (retired due to Lymes) |
| Hilltop's Braveheart | 32 Derby points with a Qualifying/Derby win at 19 months and currently running all age stakes |
| Big Horn Java Joe | 32 Derby points |
| Volwood's Yellow Griz |
40 Derby points in 2007 |
Many other Bubba dogs are competing and have had success with Derby, Qualifying, and All Age placements.
In other venues, he has sired top competitive dogs. A couple being GRHRCH, UH Wolf Creek's 1st Yellow Elly, MHN, 2003 MN Hall of Fame and TKO's Elvis, QAA, 3rd place in 2005 WRC event. Bubba has been used by the Department of Defense and Department of Customs to sire bomb and drug sniffing dogs because of his successful testing of temperament and ability.
He was a sweet tempered, 'Kong' chasing, couch potato that became a fierce competitor as he sat on the line trembling with excitement. People loved his style, enthusiasm, and uncanny ability to seek out the toughest birds.
The pups will be very well socialized, vaccinated, dew claws removed, and come with a written 26 month health guarantee.
